Toulouse v Lyon 30/5/09 (21:00 cet)

Toulouse know that a win would definitely see them finish 4th in the table, and that’d represent a decent placing for them this season. Its been a good campaign for Les Violets although they have generally struggled towards the end of this season, lacking some victories. 

They did well last week to beat Nice 2-0 away from home and put their destiny in their own hands. It wont be easy facing Lyon, but the visitors have nothing left to play for and can look forward to the summer. It’s the end of an era for Les Gones and for the first time in 7 years they wont be celebrating the ligue 1 title.

It will probably signal the start of a few departures from the club, the first being legendary midfielder Juninho. This will definitely be his last game so he’ll be determined to go out with a bang.

The extra motivation and intensity is sure to come from Toulouse and they are deserving favourites to get the 3 points.

This season certainly hasn’t been the most memorable for Lyon and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them end it on a losing note.
