Barclays Premier League

Monday 19th October

Fulham v Hull City

Live on ESPN

Kick Off 8.00pm

Well the matches keep rolling round for Fulham, it might only be their 8th match in the Premier League but it’s their 15th all told this season.  No other Premier League side has played more than Fulham this season thanks to a busy Europa League schedule. The match against Hull City kicks off an important week for the Cottagers as they play host to Italian giants Roma next Thursday, which will warm them up nicely for a trip to Eastlands to play Man City the following Sunday. Fulham have only tasted victory twice this season, an opening day win at Portsmouth and a 2-1 home win over Everton just over a month ago. Those wins have contributed 6 of their current tally of 7 points and the relegation zone will loom ever closer with every dropped point. Kagisho Dikgacoi will be suspended after being sent off in his debut in the 2-2 draw with West Ham. Long-term absentees Toni Kallio and Simon Davies will miss out, although Hodgson is confident that Davies will be available for next week's Europa League match against Roma.

The Tigers have started this season as they finished last season, pretty dismally. They enjoyed an incredible start to their 1st season in the top flight and were sitting in a lofty 3rd place this time last year. That’s not the story this time around though, Hull are struggling, indifferent form at home and poor away form see them sitting in 18th place. They do go into this having won their last match, a home 2-1 win over Wigan, but both teams were wasteful in front of goal and the result could’ve been very different.  It was a welcome victory for Phil Brown’s men as it came after an alarming 4 match losing sequence where they conceded 15 goals. Former Fulham favourite Jimmy Bullard could be up for selection after 9 months out with a serious knee injury, and defender Anthony Gardner, who has been out since August with a knee problem, could also come into contention after playing 45 minutes in a reserves friendly this week, but Phil Brown is likely to name an unchanged side from the one that beat Wigan.

Considering there’s been no shortage of goals involving these teams lately, the over 2.5 looks a decent proposition at 2.18.
