Sunday 7th March

Barclays Premier League

Everton v Hull City

Live on Sky Sports 1

Kick Off 3.30pm

Everton who have recently enjoyed home wins over Chelsea and Man Utd will be looking to extend their excellent run of five successive home wins. The Toffees make a welcome return to Goodison Park after two unsuccessful away ties at Lisbon in the Europa League and a Premier League loss at Tottenham last weekend where despite a determined show, they came off second best in a 2-1 score line. Everton could be without Phil Jagielka who has been hugely influential since returning from injury and Leon Osman is also rated as doubtful due to a foot injury. Louis Saha is ruled out due to a thigh strain but on a brighter note, Tim Cahill could return after three games on the sidelines

Third from bottom Hull City travel to Merseyside knowing they haven’t won on the road for 12 months. The Tigers got a rare victory over Everton in the first fixture this season but it was a turning point for the Toffees rather than the Tigers as Everton went on to lose just two in their next twelve fixtures, whereas Hull continued to stumble along. Hull talisman Jimmy Bullard is fit again after another lengthy spell on the sidelines and Phil Brown will have to resist major temptation to field the inspirational midfielder as in the three full games he’s taken part in this season, Hull haven’t lost. Geovanni is also available and Stephen Hunt should shake off a foot injury in time. Craig Fagan sits out a one match ban and Anthony Gardner is likely to be out for six weeks with an ankle injury.

Everton’s odds are too short to have any interest there but considering there’s been no shortage of goals at Goodison this season, the over 2.5 goals seems the sensible play.
