This is a monstrous match that will affect both the championship and also the relegation battle. Bordeaux need just a point to win ligue 1, but it wont be easy facing a Caen side who are fighting for their lives. The hosts know that only a win would secure their survival, any other result and they would be relying on Valenciennes to do them a favour against St Etienne.

Caen have to presume that Les Verts will win their match, so know that a maximum point haul is required. Its been a struggling campaign for the Normans but a couple of consecutive home wins against close rivals will have lifted their spirits, and maintained their hopes of avoiding the drop. It’ll be a tough task facing Bordeaux who have the title in their signs, but the big question is whether or not the visitors can hold their nerve?

A sensational run of 10 consecutive wins has propelled them to the top of the table and only a draw is required to lift the trophy. I honestly think that there’s going to be a final ‘twist’ in this years championship and I don’t think Bordeaux will win this match as everyone expects. My preferred bet is to take Caen on this AH line.
