Toulouse v Grenoble 15/11/08 (19:00 cet)

Grenoble were brought back down to earth last weekend when they were thrashed 0-3 at home by Marseille. This was perhaps a little bit of a harsh scoreline, but it would’ve reminded the players about the reality of Ligue 1 life.

There’s no doubt that Grenoble have been the big overachievers so far this year, and have played some smart tactics which have enabled them to pick up regular points. Undoubtedly, they have looked more comfortable away from home where they have continually frustrated many teams.

Apart from the 0-2 defeat at Lyon, they remain unbeaten on the road, and I don’t think it’d be a massive surprise to see them obtain at least a draw here. After a decent start to the season, Toulouse have struggled in the last few weeks and won only 1 of their last 5 matches.

In their last home game they played poorly facing Caen, a team who regularly restricted them in the final third of the field. They will come up against similar opponents this weekend and it might be difficult for Les Violets to get on the scoresheet. Grenoble are so boring, but their tactics have been very effective so far.

I can see a very tight game which should ultimately contain few goals in it. The best bet looks set to be under 2.
