After a good run of recent results, Nice are back up to 5th position in the table and would appear to have excellent momentum at the moment. Frederic Antonetti’s men are unbeaten in 6 games and have yet to suffer defeat in front of their own fans this season.

Things are also going well for them in the Coupe de la Ligue where they obtained an easy 3-0 midweek success against National Division side Creteil. So confidence is sure to be high within the squad ahead of this match, and they are strong favourites to beat Nantes.

Elie Baup’s visitors have generally been below par this year and are hovering just above the relegation zone. Since Baup’s arrival as coach, results have improved, but there are still plenty of worries around the club. The biggest problem has been their nightmare away form, which already includes 6 defeats.

Les Canaris have also desperately struggled to score goals on the road, netting just twice so far. It should realistically be one way traffic at Le Stade du Ray and I expect Nice to prevail. Unless Nantes really improve on their recent away performances, then it’s difficult to see them getting anything.
