Le Havre v PSG 15/11/08 (19:00 cet)

Both of these teams claimed important 1-0 wins last weekend in the ligue, and then followed this up with cup success on Wednesday night. For the first time in a long while, Le Havre are out of the relegation zone after their tight victory away against local rivals Caen.

This was a really solid performance by Les Ciel et Marine and they probably deserved the 3 points. Confidence within the squad is sure to be higher now, especially after they also beat Rennes in the Coupe de la Ligue (2-1). A few weeks ago I thought they looked doomed to relegation, and they were playing the worst football out of anyone in the top flight.

However, recently they have shown more teeth and demonstrated a determination to get out of trouble. They will come into this game against PSG hopeful of maintaining their momentum. Visiting coach, Paul Le Guen would’ve breathed a sigh of relief after their 1-0 win against Lille in the previous round.

The pressure upon him has also been further reduced thanks to a victory facing Nancy in the cup. You never know what sort of performance Les Parisians will produce, but at least the mood within the squad should be positive at the moment.

I don’t know which way this match will go, so again I think the best option is to avoid betting.
